Youth Camp
In July we attended ‘Youth Camp’ with the Georgian PU youth--yep, Ayanna too. We spent 10 days in a village not far from Tbilisi with about 140 youth. It truly was a camp setting--fresh air, 3 showers for 140 people, camp style cafeteria, barracks housing…!
We really enjoyed this time with the Georgian young people. The theme of the camp was “Dream House”, with small groups named after the parts of a house. The idea being, “What makes up a dream house?”, and, “What qualities and things are necessary to make it good, strong and enduring?” The theme was worked into the meetings and activities all throughout the camp. Every morning there were large group meetings with singing, a message from one of the leaders, and prayer. Each small group also met separately for a more focused time of discussion. Every evening we all came together again for skits and other group activities.
We’re glad that we were invited to camp this year—its one of the most memorable and special times we've had with our Georgian brothers and sisters.

And it wouldn't be camp without games—there was lots of free time for soccer, basketball, dominoes, volleyball, Frisbee, and more. We met many new people, and got to know our friends even better.
It was a spiritually refreshing time…
One day there was a special prayer time that lasted for over 2 hours with many young people seeking God, and many were baptized in the Holy Spirit. (!) It’s always exciting to see young people passionate about Jesus and their faith in Him. They invited friends to camp, and went all out for 10 days.
One girl, who was one of the student leaders this year, shared with me how she has desired for a long time to be one of the leaders at camp—she has such a desire to encourage her friends and peers to pursue God with all their heart. She helped to lead the worship time, and co-led one of the small groups.
Another boy shared how God touched his heart during the communion service. He was overcome with how God could connect with him as an individual in such a personal way.
