WOW!! Is it the middle of July already?? We can not believe how fast this summer is going. We are finishing up our second week of more intensive language study and it is going very well. Ayanna is also doing incredibly learning her first language - English :) She is up to a little over 30 words and more are added everyday. It is something else!

She is definitely showing us her personality more and more and there is no doubt she is a little girl. She loves to put on bracelets, necklaces and purses. They keep her attention for at least 3 minutes - ha ha ha....she is a fast moving toddler these days.

I continue to discover how the mindset here is so different than what I am used to. People here rarely smile when you make eye contact. The other day I was walking up the steps to our apartment and there was a lady standing on the landing. I had to move around her to get by so as I was coming up, I made eye contact with her and said, "Gamarjobat" (hello). She looked at me and said. "Viin aris khar?" (Who are you?) The woman she was speaking to said in Georgian - She is my American neighbor....then they were saying other things I couldn't pick up.

I came in so surprised...that woman could not understand why I said hello to her because she did not know who I was. I pray that the people we come in contact with will see Jesus through our friendliness...:)
